Importance of Upload Speeds

One differentiator that sets GoNetspeed internet apart from the cable company is that GoNetspeed offers symmetrical speeds. What does that mean? With symmetrical speeds, both your upload and your download speeds are the same. With most internet plans, download speeds are much faster than upload speeds. In general, consumers download more than they upload but upload speeds are becoming more critcal in a time where homes have become offices and classrooms.

Download speed is the speed at which information travels from the internet to your internet-connected device. For example, if you open the Facebook app on your phone, your download speed would determine how long it takes to load your feed. Upload speed is the opposite. It is the speed at which information travels from your internet-connected device to the internet. So if you post to your Facebook timeline, your upload speed would determine how long it takes your post to get to the Facebook server for all your friends to see.

Without a reliable upload speed, you could be falling behind in several categories that rely on upload speeds. Some examples are below:

Distance Learning:
-For teachers, inability to upload remote lesson plans and lead virtual classrooms.
-For students, inability to submit course materials and participate in virtual classrooms.

-Inability to upload working files to remote servers.
-Unable to participate in video calls.
-Unable to lead online presentations.

-Outages of home monitoring and control systems.

Seniors/Quarnatined Folks:
-Inability to receive "telemedicine" from your medical professional(s).
-Unable to video chat with friends and family.
-Inability to access breaking or pertinent news.
-Inability to conduct e-commerce and online banking.

COVID-19 has pushed consumer internet to be an even more critical part of our lives as consumers shift to work, collaborate and socialize remotely. Far more of us are working at home and those that do, routinely video conference and collaborate online. The COVID-19 pandemic has introduced new challenges for some consumers who are adjusting to remote work, which is causing consumers to re-evaluate their home Internet service.
Surveys conducted by reputable consulting firms indicate that a vast majority of consumers (69%) want to keep/increase their home internet budget and 42% of consumers reported a network issue with their home internet. With GoNetspeed home internet service, you can get a faster internet connection and pay less! We provide crazy fast fiber internet at affordable flat fees. No contracts. No sneaky charges. No joke.
We think our service is great, but don't take our word for it! Here is feedback from one of our customers in West Hartford, CT:
"We paid for Gig service with the cable company and never saw up/down speeds over 420 Mbps. Once the COVID situation hit, our speeds had dropped to under 200 Mbps pretty consistently. Our GoNetspeed service was installed on 4/6/2020. While we haven't consistently seen the speeds we're getting this morning (911.6 Mbps download / 939.8 Mbps upload), the service has been much better than our previous provider. I need awesome service in order to work from home. You guys are delivering. Much appreciated!"
